The company declared that it was going to abandon the sale of Toys R Us name and branding and would hold on to them instead. Toy R Us and Babies R Us both announced they will be closing their doors kicking off some seemingly great going-out-of-business sales. Low sales in recent years led to the closing of several stores.
There was a last-ditch effort by billionaire Isaac Larian CEO of Little Tykes Toys and Bratz Dolls to raise money to save the company with a GoFundMe page but that effort has failed.
Outlets in June of 2018. Inventories exceed 2 billion in retail value. Troubled retailer Toys R Us is closing roughly 400 US. The company said all its stores will be closing on Friday June 29.
